    re-read your question

DeAngelo was claimed to have been clocked (unofficially) at 4.15

Fabian Washington was 4.25 hand clocked at the NFL combine.

I like Ginn a lot, but he is still very raw. He can't solely rely on his speed in the pros, he needs to develop his timing and route running.

If you watch Ginn's tape you can see he is more than just a sprinter trying to play football. He has a good feel for the open seams and has similar explosion to Hester. People will make statements about Hester having great blocking and such but a large part of the success is the player seeing the field and exploding which is what Ginn can do.

Ginn would beat Jarrett in a 40 yard race by 10 yards.
Ginn can take a 5 yard hitch and make a 80 yard TD out of it.

If Ginn were to last until our pick I would bet we take him.

I read that five times and I do not see the relevance of that to what I said.

First of all you are trying to counter an statement made that claimed Ginn could not be caught by anyone and by simply listed some fantom 40 times you apparently thought you made some kind of point.

The point is Ginn IS super fast AND he is not just a fast guy trying to play football. Also, if a guy with 4.3 speed gets a step on a guy with 4.2 speed even though the 4.2 guy (like there is really anyone on earth that really runs that fast) is faster it would take 100 yards for him to catch the other guy.
By the way DeAngelo doesn't run a 4.15. If you would like to view some interesting reading on 40 times and such you might want to check out the following:

    http://www.answers.com/topic/40-yard-dash

Unoffically Ginn has been timed as fast as 4.04. Ben Johnson's world record, steroids aided 100 meters had Johnson running a legit 4.24 for the first 40 yards.

Now beyond Ginn actually being able to put eye popping track times, like I stated earlier, Ginn is also a fast football player and watching his tape you see explosion out of cuts and such that makes other players look like they are standing still. Those guys he is playing against in college are not that much slower than the pros either, at least on a timed basis. Ginn doesn't just win the race to the endzone be beats guys by 20 yards.

Of course he doesn't actually run a 4.15. Almost everyone knows 40 times are not true 40 yard times. But as long as everyone is judged by the same standard, it's equally effective at determining a speed hierarchy of players.

umm. if we're using the 19th pick on a WR, why would we draft one for returns? we need a WR that uses all his energy to be an every down WR. not returning kicks or punts. draft a WR later on in the rounds to use as a return specialist.

I still hope we go for Defense in first and second round.

We need a play maker, a guy who can change games not just get a first down occasionally. Ginn is one of the few guys who can be that kind of guy.

it made more of a point then 'he's a fast football player'

I can't wait to see him in the NFL. Ginn should have a 100 catches for 100 TDs based on that logic.

    who said he wasn't fast?
