Maybe overall, but the South does have its high points. I.e. Huntsville, AL, which has the highest PhDs per capita than any city in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highest-income_places_in_the_United_States "This is a list of the 100 richest places in the United States with at least 1,000 households. This is the most common list used for referring to the richest communities in the country" #3 Belle Meade, TN. Have some crow.
Given that NASA, Redstone Arsenal, and more engineering firms than you could imagine are in Huntsville, I guess it really isn't that surprising. It is surprising that all of those things are in Alabama though... God knows Mobile and Birmingham are terrible places, and aside from Huntsville I don't think any of the cities in Alabama are worth much of anything.
Ok? I said the region as a whole, not specific cities. I also noticed that 79 of the cities are not in the south, and that's not including the six in Texas, which is borderline southeast.
What am I whining about? I stated facts. You're the one that's super defensive about this and dragging it out a lot longer than it ever needed to be. You're getting your panties in a bunch over one meaningless sentence. If you don't like my perceived "whining" then block me.
