What's the GPA for the other conferences' football players? Probably on par. Post Michigan's while you're at it otherwise you look biased [shocker].
Getting away from the SEC, and just talking about education in the south. I've gone to three elementary schools while I was a kid, and I can say that school down there was waaay more difficult than school in New York or Connecticut. Lots of people up here assume folks down south are dummy's cause they speak differently, but I always tell these people how far from the truth that really is. As for the SEC having players with low GPA's, oh well. Points on the scoreboard> SAT scores LOL
Another thing is, you go to the SEC to go to the NFL, not to learn physics and calculus. Guys going to the Big East or PAC10 are going there to become dentists and engineers some day.
I just got done grading high school level standardized assessments. Simple algebra, like, x=80 y=1000 + 40x and then questions based on that. I kept track of the stats for myself, 85% were blank, no answers. 7,000 papers for the whole group, i graded ~1,200. This was those students' last chance to "graduate". 85% blank. This was in New Jersey.
The southeast is least educated region in the country. Also the poorest, most unhealthy, and has the highest STD rates. Why do I live here again?
