Keyword.... "violence".... didn't see anything in that article about people getting killed and gun fights at big bend. In fact, when I was there in April, I asked the Rangers about it and they said other than some attempted smuggling, nothing ever really happens around there. Like I said, I've been all around west Texas towns without a single issue, but I don't go to the few that have issues.

I almost got in a fight with a guy in Texas for throwing a biodegradable gum wrapper in some grass. He was so proud of his state.

Not that it's worth fighting over, and there are plenty of people all over Texas and every state that litter, but no matter where you are you shouldn't throw trash on the ground.
