    I'm good with this if it happens. It gives the Titans another season to evaluate him to see if he is worth a long-term deal. It buys some time if they do want to extend him before this season. It gives Stevens another year to develop.

    The other advantage is they shop Scaife around for a trade if they want and not let him walk without compensation. If someone offers a 2nd rounder I'd consider letting him go if they don't think he is the long term answer.
