Steady DW, steady.
You can't honestly believe that Washington and his 8 year career as an excellent return specialist and 2 pro bowls is less reliable than a guy who had ONE good year and has been on IR for the last two.
The ONLY thing Mariani has on Leon is he's younger and honestly that might not be a big deal in this case as Washington has been hurt less over his career and his last pro bowl year was 2012.Mariani's pro bowl year was 2010.
Washington also played very well for us last season and showed he still has that speed by nearly taking it to the house in a 95 yard return that led to a TD. His 2012 longest return was 98 yards. Forgive me for thinking that the guy who has been consistently performing at a high level for the last few years just might be a safer bet than the guy who has spent his last two on a stretcher. I don't hate Marc but he does get disproportionate amounts of love. All Marc has is youth and potential. I'll take the proven commodity.
It would be cool to see Leon break the NFL record for kickoff return TDs as a Titan. He's only one away...
I'm not gonna lose sleep either way. Mariani or Leon. One is probably gone. Would be nice to have both, but I doubt that's plausible.
Yeah. We'd prob have to cut someone good to make that happen and with McCluster on the roster no way we carry an extra returner. Mariani needs to win that 5th WR spot in a bad way.I hear he's doing well in practice. Hopefully for him he can carry that momentum into the games.
Exactly why I said he got to make the team as a WR. Washington is gonna lock up the return position I think.
It would be pretty sweet to carry both and put both back there. They couldn't directional kick it away from our guy because they'd be kicking it to another dangerous guy on the other side.
Mccluster could also accomplish the same thing tho.
Because it's easy to root for the kid. I don't see what the big effing deal is. I don't think anyone expects him to be more than a 5th WR/KOR. But it doesn't mean we can't root for the guy and hope he does well.
Wow really, you've succumbed to PK level? Then explain why so many want to Campbell to make the move to No.2 CB? He's not white....
Never said anything of the sort. I just don't see how Mariani is a gamble. It's not like Mariani went from being a Pro Bowler to Darius Reynaud between 2010 and 2011. I mean, the guy had eight 40+ returns in two years and only four fumbles(three his rookie year). He's sure-handed, makes good decisions on when to fair catch and provides good field position. If that's a gamble then I'm all-in.
This is going to settle itself, so there's really sense in debating it.
where are you looking?
seriously I know nobody with this opinion.
Washingtons biggest asset in 13 was that he finally got ReyTARD off the roster
MM has yet to prove he is even an average NFL WR. IMO
Munchak did not even let LW get 1 rush as a Titan so I assume he is worse than and that is a low bar to get under.
So IMO if the TItans consider the return abilitys equal - and that is where I see it - then at least MM has the potential to be a 5th WR whereas Washington will not see the rock as RB
of course MM could crumble at first contact 9Aug ...
