With the top FA safeties all being scooped up by other teams, I've changed my thinking and now believe we've got to get Adams or Hooker with one of our 1sts.

Either you got to get them 2 with the #5 pick, because they won't be available with our second 1st round pick (barring we don't trade it away).

I hope it's hooker, I generally would rather have a ball hawking FS than a SS. Both really good players though.

We just signed cyprien. Doesn't look like we'll go s in the first 3 rounds now.

I am afraid you are correct. I would have loved hooker or adams they are both game changers and the best 2 Safeties available in one draft in recent history or maybe ever. Good news is draft is very deep at DB

I see Cyprien as a Rashad Johnson or Searcy. Us taking a shot at a guy we think can play a role but he's not a definite starter. Cyprien might be penciled in at SS right now, but he might be more of a big nickel run stopping S since he's not great in coverage. It gives us a package player and some depth...meaning we don't HAVE to take a S in round 1. But much like the Derrick Henry and Kevin Dodd picks, he has shown he's willing to take starter level talent, even if we have a strong starter in place.

Also, Adams and Hooker aren't the only good S prospects in the draft. Budda Baker, Melinfonwu, Peppers, Eddie Jackson, etc. There will be at least 1 very good S in each of the first 3 rounds. Same argument for CB. There is a lot of great depth so there will be good cb's coming off in round 3 that normally go in round 2!

Deep class...if you can find the right fit for your system!

Part of the FA equation is the depth of the draft at each position. The GM wants to fill as many positions from the draft with quality players as he can. JROB likes to build with the draft, then fill in from FA..

I would agree, but I think we've got plans to use Trawick as a depth guy too. I have a hard time seeing us take 2 safeties and still draft a guy early, though I suppose we could cut/trade Searcy or someone else.
