MINNEAPOLIS The Titans trimmed their roster from 90 to 75 players earlier this week.

Now comes the hard part: getting to 53.

Teams have until 5 p.m. Saturday to reach the NFL-mandated limit of 53 players. The Titans are expected to start the process on Friday.

“It is hard,” coach Mike Munchak said. “These guys have been together since April, and this group has come together as a football team and worked really hard. The next 48 hours is going to be really hard, and that is the really hard part about this business for coaches, players, everybody.

“It is a very hard time because you get attached to these guys. You want to keep them all, but you can’t. We have a lot of great guys on this football team that we’d love to keep.”

I just hope we can keep Michael Preston. The dude has had a good training camp by all reports and has been decent-good in the preseason. No doubt in my mind that he will be picked up if we try and practice squad him.

Preston needs to make this team. He's shown he can play and the only WR who's outplayed him in the preseason is Nate. The guy is 6'5" with good hands and can run. He's basically what we hope Hunter can be this season (JH will far exceed him in the future).

Last night McCarthy said he wanted his starting job back.....he played like ****. We need to cut this bum and bring in another veteran to fill his spot.

Uh... he's probably our second best defensive player outside of Casey when healthy. The dude missed all of training camp and 3/4ths of the preseason. He'll get the rust off.. the dude flat out balls.

if he stays healthy, of course. :biglaugh:

Preston better make the squad. He is still raw but he has tons of upside and is showing consistent improvement.

He will get picked up instantly if we don't keep him. Then we will regret it. Washington isn't long term/old. Britt is still our best WR but still huge questions about him. Can we retain him? Does he start coming back to the ball? Will he ever be the WR in that eagles game like three years ago??

If they both end up leaving that leaves us with a third year Wright (next year I'm talking) a 2nd year hunter, and our Vet would be Damian F'in Williams... Uhhh... Yea we keep Preston.

If him and hunter can both get on a steady pace I actually prefer their body type/style on the outsides. Leaving wright in the slot. While both a little lanky, they seems to make a good duo in the second team.
