That is reasonable except we got shellacqued on both our home openers the past two years. We ALMOST made the playoffs when we SHOULD have made the playoffs. We lost to a team that hadn't won a game- keeping us out. The problem many (including myself) have with the team is that we didn't appear to fix ANY of the problems that were obvious last year. It is reasonable to question the coaches capacity to identify and resolve problems. The OL remains a mess. The running game remains a mess. Hell- they looked even worse. Pressure on the opposing QB? Pheewwww. Defensive adjustments? Offensive adjustments? There is a reason the players may have doubts about our coaching. Jim Harbaugh was hired the same year that Munchak was and honestly, the 49ers were in worse shape than we were at that time. I'm greatly disappointed in the direction this team is headed, particularly when I the strongly positive direction another team is headed by a coach who we SHOULD have at least given a look. Adams/Reinfeldt didn't "release" Fisher until there were few other quality coaches on the market. IMO- that move was a clear "hand-off" to an "in-house" guy. That always seems to spell trouble. Munchak is a likable quy. But he hasn't shown me much in the way of getting this program going in the right direction.
