Reason for the delay in signing Abraham.

    Yeah, he may be saying that, and it may be just to sweeten the contract or he could really mean it. But either way, if he's playing well, they're going to do everything they can to get him on and keep him on the field. The best players play.....competition, he should understand that. I think this has more to do with the contract.

    He only needs to be on the field when it's a passing down.

    I'm quite surprised Abraham or Freeney hasn't signed with the Lions yet. Playing in dome, on turf and with ends wide-9 and some decent DTs, it sounds like the system where they can get the most success.

    yah he wont play every down anymore - anywhere. Plus Freeney is out there too looking for teams.
