I agree... we shouldn't have paid CJ anything and spent the money on the Oline.

Paying CJ was a waste of money.

It is possible that if the O-Line was performing well, we wouldn't even be discussing CJ regressing. Not to say that he hasn't somewhat, but would it be obvious? he's still fast enough to get big runs if the line was performing like it was in 2009 imo.

    Detroits run blocking sucks.

Kevin Smith was good even when the line was terrible. He had to fight for every yard and did it well til he was injured.

Thus the reason I used to say he was just as good as CJ during their rookie years.

You shouldn't need a once in a decade line like the broncos had to have a good RB.

Stop making excuses for CJ. He'd suck azz behind a good or average OL right now.

Serious? The same line we have now except for one player? Any average starting back could have averaged 5.6 yards a carry? And had 22 runs of 20 yards or more? You have to be smoking something.

For a back to average 5.6 yards carry over 350 carries is sick. Average backs cannot and don't do that.

An average back would get you 4.0 to 4.2 ypc.

The line was suspect last season but Scott seems to have dropped off dramatically.

VY also made it easier for CJ to find a ruuning lane.
In 09' Crumpler was a major factor in our running success.

Right now we're at a low ebb with Scott,Harris and Amano playing terribly as individuals. The unit is in dissarray.

Even so though, agood Centre good be enough help out the Guards to make the unitserviceable again.

just flip Amano and Harris back and stick Velasco in for Scott. Could that actually be any worse than what we have seen so far?

I don't agree with this either. Don't let this year tarnish what CJ did then. He was special that year, had blazing speed, made people miss and had vision.
Maybe 3 or 4 could have gotten 2000 but not 14-15.

There might be 14 or 15 who could get more yards than he's getting this year, though.
