RB Brown Ready to Move On

Jevon Kearse when playing for us was limping off every other play. At least he lasted a little while when he went to Philly, and went down to real injuries rather than the gimps that all our players have.

 

The guy got 100 yards in halves pretty often in his soph season. How many others do that? Better yet, how many on our team do that? Ever have? His 'injuries' were annoying, but he hit gaps great. His career ypc is 4.2 ypc while henry's is 4.1, eddies is 3.6. Brown had the same numbers as Henry does now at a time when our o-line wasn't blocking as well, and we didn't have VY as a distraction.
To say he wont be #1 on someone's depth chart is about silly.

 

Usually in two of his nine or ten runs, the other seven or eight being no longer than 2 yards each

funny how a few 20/30+ runs can help that

Brown has his great runs, but he's not consistent at all.

1st quarter 50 yards 5 carries
2nd quarter 40 yards 8 carries
3rd quarter 5 yards 7 carries
4th quarter 3 yards 3 carries

 

You left one thing out of the first half breakdown: 70 of those yards are from 3 of the 13 carries

yes.. brown was able to run for long gains from time to time.. but the man's production usually declined as the game went on, which IMO is opposite of what you want.. also.. brown's health issues (even though he averaged .1 yards per carry more than henry.. nasty stat) added to his only average RB status.. and in relation to george.. although he had a lower ypc avg. he usually saw more touches( a lot more), could get you the "have to have 3rd and 1" yards, and just seemed to run with this "mean streak" that brown just never matched.. i wish brown the best of luck

100 yds and a TD is the same nomatter what time of the game it comes. Unless it's ammo to knock Chris Brown of course...

 

I will be very surprised if Brown doesn't get significant playing time somewhere this year.

I will be only slightly surprised if he get 1000 yds.

It is a shame we didn't trade him for a pick last year.
