WR depth is not great but not as bad as it looks. You have to consider that McCluster will be used some at WR and could be used more in tbe event of injury.

Wright, hunter, Washington and Preston will all see the field often this year.

All are actually nice targets. Wrights third season... Time for him to really step forward.

Hunter showed some nice talent, Preston showed he can play..

But one injury and we are a handicap team. We need another WR cuz Mariani shouldn't make this team based on WR play.

Mariani shouldn't make this team period, but he is just so damn likable that EVERYBODY wants to see him succeed. I don't think Whiz is an exception, however I hope he is a realist and takes a better option when it becomes available.

That said, go Mariani make it happen! I would love to see him filling the Wes Welker role and Wright becoming a deep threat.

Frankly, wrights hands makes me like him on short and intermediate routes. He was a game changer on deep routes in college but hunter is gonna be our deep guy moving forward. I don't like him having to change direction multiple times in routes. ACL fears with his length.

Honestly, I don't have much faith in Hunter until he proves it. He dropped quite a few catchable balls last year. Him and Preston have a similar stature and I think Preston might be as good if not better than Hunter. Everyone talks about Hunter's potential so he must be physically gifted, but Preston seems hungry and I could see him picking up the slack if Hunter doesn't put it all together.

Hunter has it in him. He had issues his senior year catching the ball but not prior to that. He was off after his injury. It normally takes two seasons to come back fully. Hunter should be seeing the deep ball and the jump ball. Not the crossing route and the stuff over the middle.

I'm a fan of Preston as well.

I almost forgot, I hate the Randy Moss comparisons to Justin Hunter! Assuming the comparisons come true, Hunter will be the next regular season record-setting, pre-madonna, post-season loser.
