"Most eyes were on DT Terrance Knighton (6-3 1/4, 317 pounds), who had 40 times of 4.93 and 5.06, a 29-inch vertical and an 8-foot, 9-inch broad jump. He also had a 4.64 short shuttle, a 7.22 three-cone drill and 21 repetitions on the bench press."

"Weather was a factor at recent pro days at Jackson State and Alcorn State.

On March 25, Jackson State had to move its pro day to the Velocity Sports Performance facility in Ridgeland, Miss., after rain forced the event indoors. Representatives from 15 NFL teams were in attendance to watch nine players work out on a FieldTurf-type surface. John Dorsey, the Packers’ director of college scouting, and Rick Reiprish, the Saints’ director of college scouting, ran the show.

The top performance came from CB Domonique Johnson (6-2, 188 pounds), who turned in times of 4.57, 4.52 and 4.54 in the 40-yard dash, with a 4.28 time in the short shuttle and a 7.21 in the three-cone drill. He took part in position drills but stood on his numbers from the combine in the jumps and on the bench press.

Other schools sending players to Jackson State’s pro day included nearby programs Belhaven College and Delta State University.

At Alcorn State on March 24, six players ran outdoors on grass despite a wet field and winds from the south at 10-15 mph. The players ran the 40-yard dash twice — once with the wind and once against the wind, to even out the times.

OLB Lee Robinson (6-2 1/8, 247 pounds) looked the best, with times of 4.78 and 4.94 in the 40 with a 9-foot, 5-inch broad jump. He finished the short shuttle in 4.47 and the three-cone drill in 7.23 and participated in position drills.

Tennessee RB Arian Foster worked out at San Diego St.'s pro day.

"Tennessee RB Arian Foster (6-1, 224) lives in the San Diego area and took the opportunity to show off his skills in front of scouts. Foster ran a 4.73 and 4.69 in the 40-yard dash, 4.53 in in the short shuttle and 7.09 in the three-cone drill. He also posted a 32-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot, 7-inch broad jump."

"A sizable contingent of NFL assistant coaches and scouts were in attendance at Richmond’s pro day on March 19 to watch DE/LB Lawrence Sidbury Jr. (6-2 1/2, 265 pounds).

Representatives from 31 NFL teams came to the pro day, including Carolina Panthers GM Marty Hurney (who has been virtually everywhere on the pro day circuit), linebacker coaches from the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins and defensive line coaches from three teams. Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Vic Fangio worked out Sidbury.

Sidbury, who has visited the Buffalo Bills and will visit the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Rams and Tennessee Titans, stood on his numbers from the combine.

The players worked out in a strong crosswind outdoors on FieldTurf. The players did the broad jump and the vertical leap after positional drills due to rain. Here are other notables:

RB Josh Vaughan (5-11 1/4, 224 pounds) had times of 4.59 and 4.63 in the 40-yard dash, with a 37-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump. He had times of 4.15 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.10 seconds in the three-cone drill, with 36 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press.

    TE Joe Monteverde (6-4 1/2, 247 pounds) ran the 40 in 4.85 and 4.77 and had a 35 1/2-inch vertical with a 9-foot, 10-inch broad jump. He had a 4.31 short shuttle and a 7.06 three-cone drill, and didn’t participate in the bench."

"Representatives from 18 teams traveled to Hofstra on March 24 to watch 29 players from various schools work out indoors on FieldTurf.

Monmouth TE John Nalbone measured in at 6-4 1/4 and 257 pounds. He ran a 4.75 and 4.81 40-yard dash, a 4.22 short shuttle and 6.97 three-cone drill, with a 30-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump and 22 strength lifts. Two days later, Nalbone worked out in front of scouts at Monmouth University, where he measured in six pounds lighter at 251. There he posted a 4.63 and 4.66 40-yard dash, a 4.22 short shuttle, 6.94 three-cone-drill, a 30-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump and 22 strength lifts."

Might be a nice late round pickup.

"New England Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia was on hand at South Carolina’s March 25 pro day to personally work out tackle Jamon Meredith, who was among 18 players to workout indoors on FieldTurf in front of representatives from 25 NFL teams.

Meredith measured in at 6-foot-5, 304 pounds, with 34 3/4-inch arms. He kept all of his numbers from the combine, but looked very good in position drills.

Among the other highlights from the day were:

LB Jasper Brinkley (6-1 5/8, 249) looked very quick and fluid in all positional drills. Brinkley ran a 4.39 short shuttle, a 6.92 three-cone drill and stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine.

TE Jared Cook (6-4 5/8, 249) ran a 4.56 short shuttle and a 7.25 three-cone drill. Cook has drawn a lot of interest and has a pair of upcoming workouts scheduled.

WR Kenny McKinley (5-11 7/8, 190) stood on all of his numbers from the combine.

P Ryan Succop (6-2 3/8, 218) didn’t run and chose just to do positional workouts.

    DB Carlos Thomas (5-11, 186) ran a 4.51 and 4.57 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.12 short shuttle and 7.09 three-cone drill. He also recorded a 33.5-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 10-inch broad jump and 12 bench press lifts.

    CB Stoney Woodson (5-10 1/2, 196) ran a 4.53 and 4.57 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.35 in the short shuttle and 7.23 in the three-cone drill. He added a 33.5-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump and 15 strength lifts.

RB Mike Davis (5-9 1/8, 202) ran a 4.67 and 4.68 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.23 in the short shuttle and did not run the three-cone drill. Davis posted a 32.5-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot, 5-inch broad jump and 10 bench press reps.

CB Captain Munnerlyn (5-8 5/8, 186) posted a 4.44 and 4.41 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.04 in the short shuttle and a 7.05 in the three-cone drill as well as a 36.5-inch vertical jump.

    S Emanuel Cook (5-9 3/4, 201) ran a 4.57 and 4.59 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.42 short shuttle, 7.11 three-cone drill and posted a 32-inch vertical jump.

"As previously reported by Scout.com, University of Cincinnati DE Connor Barwin has a heavy schedule of workouts and visits. But with his continued rise up draft boards, it's now likely that a team will have to use a first-round selection to land him. Scout.com has learned that a few of the other teams that showed interest in Barwin through their official interviews with him at the NFL Scouting Combine include the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The talented defensive end, who is also being considered by some teams as a tight end, will also be attending the Bengals' workout day for local draft prospects on April 14."

These will give some idea of where some players may end up, though visits don't always tell the whole story.

"Oklahoma safety Nic Harris told Scout.com that he had a private workout with the St. Louis Rams. Harris had a formal interview with St. Louis at the NFL Combine, along with a number of other teams such as the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, and the San Diego Chargers. The First-Team All-Big 12 defensive back is also being considered as a linebacker candidate by some teams due to his 6-foot-2, 233-pound frame and his ability to dish-out some punishing hits."
