    sounds a little steep
surprised to see them let Parent go

however, Forsberg should improve a team that is currently dominating

“Peter Forsberg is one of the NHL’s most complete players and the ultimate competitor – a consistent winner who has year in and year out been a difference-maker in the Stanley Cup Playoffs,” said Poile. “He strengthens our club up the middle and will provide another battle-tested, veteran voice to our dressing room. Adding a player of this caliber also sends a strong message to our fans that the Nashville Predators are prepared to compete at the highest level.”

    Forsberg
has captured two Stanley Cup championships (1996 and 2001 with Colorado)
two Olympic gold medals (1994 and 2006 with Sweden)
earned the NHL’s Hart Trophy (most valuable player)
Art Ross Trophy (scoring champion) in 2003.
has been named to the NHL’s First All-Star Team three times (1998, 1999 and 2003),
has played in five NHL All-Star Games
and won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s rookie of the year in 1995.

Wow! That's big if Forsberg can stay healthy.

Has Nashville gotten behind the Predators yet (I noticed they moved into first place overall in the league the other night), or has hockey slipped so far off the radar down there that no one other than diehards really care.

I'm no huge hockey fan, just curious if the team's success on the ice has generated some buzz.

    about 13-14,000 show up
    it's really not a hockey-type town
but they do well, despite NHL ticket prices

there needs to be more exposure

1st place and a solid run at the cup will help tremendously

That's not as steep as I thought it was going to be. I'm happy that we didn't get rid of Radulov. I was expecting to have to give up our next two first round picks.

giving up Radulov would have been moronic

    remember
    Poile gave up a
    1st
    3rd
    Scottie
and Ryan Parent (a promising prospect)

    thats alot, imo

it's clear we are making a run for the Cup this year

    AND........
last week : ``~~the club has acquired defenseman Vitaly Vishnevski (vih-TAL-ee vish-NEHV-skee) from the Atlanta Thrashers for center Eric Belanger (AIR-ihk buh-LAWN-zhay). The Predators acquired Belanger yesterday from Carolina for forward Josef Vasicek (YOH-zehf VAHSH-ih-chehk).~~2/10/2007

He would have been better of doing so.

Ryan Parent is going to be a dominant player in two years.

    So will Radulov
some have likened A-Rad to the NHL equivelant of Vince Young

of all Poile gave up, Ryan Parent was the biggest loss

both of them would have been franchise players for us in a few years
