Pre-Draft Visits

This draft confirmed the production theory on Robinson, that Dodd pick is even weirder now that weve seen 2 drafts worth of picks, and almost every single one has been productive 2 years or longer in college.

 

That pick probably solidified his position on that. I still have high hopes for Dodd, and the team not drafting an OLB till the late rounds seems like they still have good confidence in our depth there, but still need him to at least be able to be on the field!

 

I had high hopes when he was picked, but ever so slowly my faith in Dodd is decreasing

I also dont view him as a OLB

 

Dodd was hurt, missed TC last year, the whole situation was a mess. I won't write him off yet, but this year he's had ample time to get healthy and if he's not 100% ready to go this year then I'll be thinking bust.

 

Honestly, as bad as we all want him to come in and contribute, its probably best he takes his time and gets this fixed right.

Otherwise this could hamper his entire career. Your feet are everything in football, if your foundation has faults youre not going to be a good player for any kind of time..

 

Do we know where he is regarding the foot? Fixed and healthy? Still recovering? Chronic problem? What do we know atm? Anyone?

I heard from a guy who knows this kid that dated Dodds little sister that he might be back for week-1

 

Last I heard he was still rehabbing and the coaches weren't sure when he'd be ready. It didn't sound like the end of the world, but it also wasn't exactly reassuring.

 

Honestly, what is the difference between OLB and DE? They both rush the QB. I have always seen him in the three point stance. If he were to be in coverage, that's a different thing, but that is a complete waste of a pass rusher.

 

Quite a bit in a 34.

However I see Dodd as the hybrid type player who excels as a DE in a nickel and rotates in for Morgan (OLB) from time to time in base.
