POLLO TROPICAL opens in Smyrna tomorrow!

Some of you may recall my facebook effort to bring Pollo Tropical to Middle TN that I started up about 18 months ago.
Well as of tomorrow, the eagle will have landed!!

Pollo opens in Smyrna and I will be there with bells on! Tasty Cuban delights in a drive thru setup - Oh hellz yes!

My recommendations:
-Grilled Chicken (half or whole) all white.
-Black Beans and white rice (Pollo does the very best frijoles negros con arroz blanco)
-Yucca Fries (If you like french fries - this blows the common fry away!)
-Tropichop, which is a combo plate of chicken, rice and beans

Where at? I don't remember seeing any new construction since Panera.

We really need a disclaimer for threads that have pictures of food. Wasn't even hungry, and bam, thats some dirty dirty thread making.

I'll second Grilled chicken half or whole with black beans and white rice and the tropichop. Easily the two best things on the menu.

I wish they'd add some more veggies to the menu though. That keeps me from eating there on a regular basis.

I live in Franklin and though it would be silly to say I was the reason they came - I would add I was contacted by Pollo very early on thanking me for supporting the effort and they had questions about locations.
I encouraged Cool Springs as the second spot to open and that has since been confirmed - they will be here at the end of the year.

The Smyrna menu is slightly different than SoFlo but the food was still DAMN GOOD for drive through chicken. No KFC or finger joint currently in the area even comes close..

I always buy a pile o half chickens, bring em home and crisp them up on the grill. Black Beans and white rice and a yucca fry - man oh man!
