Thats the thing that hurts the most knowing we would be leading this division right now if not for the ignorant special teams screwups.Reynaud should have been gone after he cost us a safety in Pittsburgh.Had that been done we would've had a new returner in week 2 and we never would've lost to Chiefs or Colts.GM Ruston Webster set this team up perfectly to make a playoff run this year and i believe that he done an excellent job with the 2013 roster. But who would've thought that special teams would derail our season.Reynaud and Wylie are the reason we are 5-6 and not 7-3 division leaders with a clear cut path to the postseason.Makes me sick thinking that a couple of bad plays cost us two very important games and possibly the season.

Basically if Munchak would've canned Reynaud after the safety mistake first game and brought in a new returner in week two it would've saved our season. That is one thing i'm sure Munchak wishes he would've done is take care of business after the first game.

The Titans have had plenty of question marks in the return game this season.

They’re hoping newly signed Leon Washington, a two-time Pro Bowler, provides something different.

“We’re hoping he’s the answer,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “I think he brings a lot of confidence to the team now in general. I think when you bring a guy in that has been a Pro Bowler at the position and is as professional as he is… just watching him today, his attitude, how he approaches his job, his confidence, you see why he was good at what he did for so many years. That’s exactly what we needed.”

Washington participated in his first practice on Wednesday, replacing Devon Wylie, who suffered a fumbled kick-off and a muffed punt in two weeks. Wylie had replaced the injured Damian Williams, who had replaced the error-prone Darius Reynaud.

“When it comes down to returning kicks and playing football, just go out and have fun, but prepare yourself,” Washington said. “I believe in my preparation when it comes down to returning kicks, so I feel like I’ll do a good job at it.”

Washington didn’t play much in New England this year because of thigh and ankle injuries, but he says he’s healthier now. The Titans hope he displays the form that has produced eight kick-return touchdowns over his eight NFL seasons.

“It’s going to take communication — getting to practice this week, and me communicating with the guys and letting them know what I think and what I look for when I return kicks, and kind of getting a feel for how they do things around here,” Washington said. “But I’ve talked to some guys already, and let them know how seriously I take special teams. I don’t do special teams just to be in the game. You try to win the game on special teams. That’s how I feel about it.”

Washington says he tries to keep things simple when it comes to his returns, pointing out that he usually favors more of a straight-line approach than a lot of zig-zagging.

“I feel preparation is the number one thing, so you can put yourself in the right spot to take advantage of the opportunity. Then after that, catch the ball,” Washington said. “That’s the first thing you have to do. Then just trust the players around you to make good blocks.”

I'm surprised Munchak realized there was a question that needed to be answered.

Now we get lucky and get a proven vet. I guess you could argue munch didn't want to risk injury to another key piece to our team (like what happened to Williams after 2 games) but it turned out to bite us in the ass anyway having looney tunes returning kicks.

After D-rey made that error at Pit I'm sure Munch like many of us was thinking "Ok, there's no way he'll ever do something that dumb again". Clearly we were wrong.

This whole lack of special teams I put on Munch, then I put on Lowry. Munch, you needed to get the right man for the job, and you waited until week 13 to do it? BRUTAL! Should have been looking for a return specialist 0 seconds into the season, oh you know, when we gave up a ****ing safety on the FIRST play of our season.

But no, instead you dick around, lose a couple games because of it and NOW you address it.

One of the MANY reasons he needs to go. Now we're starring at a very tough 3 game stretch, after we all thought we already went through the hardest part of our schedule and were on the easier half. Indy Denver Zona, you lose 2 and I think that's our season...
