Memphis isn't really apart of Tennessee and I lived there for two years. Memphis is basically its own state.

 

If you get to disown East Tennessee, I get to disown memphis.

It is a terrible city that has much more in common with Arkansas than Tennessee.

The mere thought of the place pisses me off.

Sorry if you live in Memphis....

... Or should I say, sorry THAT you live in Memphis.

Edit: Yes I understand it is Geographically part of our state. But in my experience, people in Memphis don't recognize themselves as Tennesseans and neither do I.

 

I had to drive through that hell hole once, it was a nightmare.

I'd rather go around Memphis than drive through it again. But you know when you corss the state line into arkansas, because the interstate gets a lot rougher. The roads there suck!
