Houston basically has to lose to Atlanta and/or Cincy

most likely both since they own the tie breaker vs Tennessee even if this comes down to the last game ... unless cam newton pulls a miracle, theres no way the colts get past them so basically Hot-Lanta neeeeeds to win tomorrow ...

After that we gotta count on two NFL rookie qbs newton and dalton ... vs another rookie Yates ... battle of the rookies will determine if Tennessee can get into the playoffs this year or not

Very possible that Houston loses tomorrow at home, at Cincy next week, and against Carolina and their stud Cam Newton

Thing is we'd have to finish really strong....tomorrow obviously a must win but I'd also say NO next week as well

I just don't see it happening....the Britt injury killed all of our playoff hopes....with him we'd have 2 more wins

How about we just win our games. We do that and we are in.

At this point we'd probably want Houston to beat Cincy and Pittsburgh to beat them tomorrow, they also play Baltimore which gives us another chance.
We also need the Jets to lose a game or two. The only tough game they have is New York Giants. Hopefully one of Miami, Philly or Kansas City can knock them off.
Denver can't keep up it's Tebow flukiness so I am not too worried about them (they do have Chicago, New England, at Buffalo as well)

I'd say we want the Jets to stick around...In the event of a 3 team tie between us, New York, and cincy, we would hold the tiebreaker assuming our loss is to the saints which would probably be the only way we tie those other two teams.

Would the Bengals not own a tiebreaker on us due to head to head victory?

The only logical way to determine who gets in with a three-way tie is to vote and put an algorithm into a computer and hope for the best.

The way I see it, we can afford only one loss to the Saints to keep our playoff hopes alive. That would put us at 10-6. Then I think the 2 most likely scenarios are either the Texans losing 4 out of five, or the Bengals losing 3 out of five. The Texans-Bengals game next week would really determine which route we have to take.

In all honesty, it would probably be better for the Texans to beat the Bengals because the Bengals have a pretty rough schedule(they still have to play the Steelers and Ravens). But I really don't see that happening with Yates as the starter.

If what Thesurething saying is true, then the Jets could make it interesting. That would mean the Bengals would only have to lose 2 games, and I definitely see that happening.

Does anyone know how we would fare against the Jets in a head to head tie?

EDIT: nevermind we would have the tiebreaker with conference wins as long as our loss isn't to an AFC team.
