Pizza in Franklin

Sal's Pizza in the old Fat Mo's building is the new top dog pizza in Franklin..... FINALLY a decent NYC style slice in town.

Knew that guy would never finish that pizza in an hour.

I'm gonna have to check out that place.

If you like the extra thin crust (as I do) you gotta axe for it before they bake it up..

I've never been a fan of thin crust.

I went to a NY style pizza restaurant in Maryland Farms about a year ago... wasn't a big fan. Had high hopes, but thought the pizza was just average.

I forgot what it was called, but it's pretty hidden over there off of Maryland Way.

That would be Joeys House of Pizza - which by no means is a good example of real NYC pizza. Of course you can't get the actual thing in TN anyway. Pretty sure they use a pre-made frozen crust. Either way it's pretty flavorless.
There's "thin" pizza which you can get at any lame national delivery chain and then there's real deal thin NYC "folding" pizza. The latter is the real deal while the prior just gives thin pizza a bad name.

Original Famous Rays in NYC is considered a tourist food, but it's still damn good in my book..

Pie in the Sky and Mellow Shroom as good too usually.

Both are decent for what they are. Mellow Mushroom bread is heavier than dark matter though..
