Pick #16: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

I think some assume there was a team willing to trade for our pick, so we could trade back. Trading back might not have been an option.

Also on another note, peppers and williams both came from an ACC school!!!!!

some people would have complained if Suh was the pick. Plenty of armchair GMs on this board for sure.

I'll admit he wasn't the top guy I wanted us to get (I wanted a CB), but I'm satisfied with it. As far as DEs go, I think he will end up being the best one from this draft. I'm glad we got him instead of Pierre-Paul or Graham. I would have loved to get Kyle Wilson, as I though CB was our biggest need, especially with talk of the Big Al trade. But DE is also a huge need and we do have some young guys at CB, so hopefully they will step up. That being said, welcome to the Titans, Derrick Morgan! Hopefully you will get to play in the playoffs and even a Super Bowl soon.

Just got home tonight, to find out that we got Morgan.

I think we'll be very pleased with this pick.

I like the value, and I like the player. Like others have said, it was a safe pick. You're going to get a solid player with Morgan, but I didn't think he really fit "our" system. While I wasn't high on JPP, I honestly think the Titans take him if the Giants don't.


Morgan was honestly 2nd on my mental draft board for ends (had Graham higher), and would have loved a trade down to get someone like Jerry Hughes (who just made the Colt's pass rush incredibly scary). But I can't complain.

I just despise the idea of a Colts jersey with "J. Hughes" on the back.

What I do like about Morgan the most is the word going around about his motor. A guy with an already high motor going under the wing of Washburn is going to create a solid, solid pro player.
