    For every Elway and Marino there was a Montana and Favre who was a shell of themselves at the end of their careers. They thought they could do more than their bodies would allow. It took a couple of bad seasons with other franchises to realize it was over.

    I'm not saying Manning is done but he might not be the same QB he thinks he is. Time will tell.

    How exactly was Montana a shell of his former self?

    He took the Chiefs to the playoffs both years he QB'd for them, including going all the way to the AFC Championship game in 93. In 94 he won shootouts against Elway and Steve Young during the season and played great in their playoff game.

    I don't see that at all except maybe from TheSureThing.

    These opportunities don't come around office. Got to weight the risk vs the reward.

    If Peyton is 90% the player he was, then we are better Superbowl contenders then we will be with Hasselbeck.

    We would be foolish to just dismiss this as an option without at least considering it.
