People wanted Nick Fairley over Jake Locker

I'd put Newton, Locker, Dalton, Mallett, and Ponder over Tannehill easily. Whoever wastes a top 10 pick on him are going to be feeling like the Jags.

 

I didn't like Locker's career at Washington. I look forward to him taking over, but he is still ALL hype at this point.

The guy that I really liked in last year's draft was Von Miller.

 

I liked Von too, just knew he wouldn't fall to us, he's a monster though.

 

And that's saying something, because Christian Ponder sucks.

 

Yea and I was pretty high on Ponder as well. Hopefully with some offensive line help he will turn out better.

I still think we got the best guy out of our choosing.

 

I just never saw an NFL starter when I watched Ponder play. Weak arm, average size, good accuracy...not the kind of guy you take at 12. He couldn't stay healthy in college and I don't expect him to in the pros.

Ponder's best career will come after football.

 

Unless Locker sucks and Fairley turns into an all-pro. I think then we'd be screwed...

I really couldn't care less if we have a roster full of potheads, he'll smarten up and learn not to leave his basement when blazing.

 

I was all for getting Fairley 1st and then Mallet in the 2nd, but now that I know more about Locker I think he was the perfect pick for us in the 1st. We didn't have a Tom Brady for Mallet to sit behind and learn from. Mallet would have gone ghetto on our coaches if they wouldn't have put him in over Hasselbeck last season while Locker is more mature and willing to learn from a vet(even though he is better).

We got our starting outside linebacker for many years in the 2nd anyway, so I'm definitely happy we spent our 1st on a true leader that grown men will play for.

Also, Kenny Britt got caught with weed before last season, and we all saw how horribly he played...gosh, those dang potheads. lol
