He's a guy that jumps the snap count better than most I've ever seen coming out. Continuously gets hurt. Pats probably just cutting their losses after another bad outlook on his health check up

    Per NFL.com:

Former first-round pick Dominique Easley played exceedingly well for the New England Patriots last season when he was healthy. That makes the defensive lineman's release all the more surprising.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Easley was released on Wednesday after playing only 22 games over two seasons. ThePatriots later confirmed Easley's release. Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England first reported the news.
While injuries have been an issue for Easley, it's hard not to wonder if there is more to the story here.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick called Easley an "explosive player that is very disruptive" before last season. Easley only played 275 snaps last year, but he looked like one of the team's best defensive players when healthy. To put it in perspective: ProFootball Focus ranked him as the No. 12 defensive tackle in the league despite the limited playing time.

Go look at his Wikipedia page before it changes... says the Falcons signed him. Lol

Sure, claim him. Why not? We still have a ton of money to spend anyways... even if we extend Delanie, which we damn well better do asap.

Just claim him, we're 1st on the waiver wire. He's still on his rookie deal and played well when he was on the field. If he doesn't cut it in camp, cut him then. We need depth and he can give that.

CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran reported Easley was released because of “philosophical differences on following injury programs, etc.” CBSSports.com’s Jason La Canfora reported the release was “not a pure performance/football matter. Off field issues related to the decision to part w/ former top pick.” FoxSports.com’s Peter Schrager reported the release is “more for off-field reasons than on. Nothing specific, at the moment.”
