I heard it on The Zone on the way home. I have a feeling it will get the place rocking. Since it'll be "Code Blue", there's some cool pre-game stuff happening and they encouraged everyone to get there a little early on Sunday. I'm stoked.
Legendary Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt will be the 12th Titan prior to kickoff of the Titans-Patriots game on Sunday. Also, Titans owner Bud Adams, Jr. will donate $25,000 to the Pat Summitt Foundation in an effort to raise awareness and help find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease. “I am very thankful for the generous support of Mr. Bud Adams and the Tennessee Titans’ franchise,” said Summitt. “My son, Tyler and I have enjoyed attending Tennessee Titans’ games and cheering for our home state football team. I am humbled and excited that the Tennessee Titans have joined our team in fighting Alzheimer’s disease through the The Pat Summitt Foundation.” Summitt is the all-time winningest coach in NCAA history for men’s and women’s teams. The Lady Vols won eight NCAA titles during her tenure. Summitt revealed prior to last season she’s battling early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type. Also, the Titans will conduct their fifth annual CODE BLUE at the game. Also on Sunday: National anthem: Mickey Guyton, with a flyover by the U.S. Navy F/A-18 E/F Super Hornets. Charitable drive: YWCA “Undie Sunday” Drive (the team will collect women’s undergarments for shelter residents) Halftime: Performance by Phil Vassar. Promotional giveaway: Titans Code Blue hats from TN Farm Bureau Insurance. Source: Titans Insider
Well... yeah. They started that last season (or the year before). Usually, it's pretty lame. They often honor vets and former players which is pretty nice but this one will be memorable.
We're the big game for CBS on Sunday so, I suppose, they thought it was a good game for it. They may end up doing more than one this season.
