You list Vince as over rated, yet call out Drew for not catching some of the junk Vince threw his way? That's priceless. Poor Vince, he only won the Rose Bowl on National TV, I am sure he lacks confidence. What he does lack is passing skills, and Drew (nor anyone else on this team) can't make that problem any better. There have been games where we rarely even pass the ball, you cannot expect receivers to get involved and into a rhythm when they rarely see the ball. Vince is a rookie, and throws a lot of "hospital" passes, which also doesn't help. As Vince becames better at his passing game, all of a sudden you will see our receivers get better, then everyone will be posting what a miracle it is.

Underrated - Vince. The media still does not get it. He's the best qb. Period.
Overrated - Bironas, we are in his range at 60 now. lol.

Here’s a guy that will win it perfectly on and off the field. VY has the heart of a champion and the attitude of someone wanting to get on the field, pull of a win and leave the talk on the field. Most fans have seen what he’s done in the Rose Bowl and expect him to do the same in Tennessee overnight. Unfortunately it’s not going to happen that quickly on a weekly basis, but once it starts rolling there’s no stopping him!

He will make mistakes.. he will throw when the other option is simply taking a sack to end a game and secure a win. He will occasionally overthrow some players which will lead to interceptions. He will burn time-outs unnecessarily which will lead to losing close games. This will go on for at least a couple of seasons until he gets the experience he’s fairly entitled to which will make him a better player!

    Great point..
The hype is through the roof now because he’s winning the games. If he would have lost the close games, the opinions of most fans would certainly be different. Don’t forget most of the games we’ve won were close games.

Some fans are holding him to higher standards, and will be the first to yell “dumb ***” when he makes the mistake; most other fans on the other hand will understand that he’s fresh out of college, and the mistakes he’s making are normal and somewhat expected.

Don’t overrate him.. Give him the chance he deserves to learn the game at a higher level, and to learn from his mistakes as he makes the transition from new-comer to pro-bowler.

Thunder… I’m constantly wondering if the Drew Bennett you’re discussing is the same Drew Bennett everybody else is watching.

If you’re claiming he has the skills, I won’t argue with you there... He has proven to be a good receiver in the past, and that was the reason he was kept on the roster for 6 seasons; however, if you’re claiming that the many drops he has made this season are not his fault and instead the result of VY’s "hospital" passes, you are unfortunately wrong.

Most of the best passes VY has made were to Drew.. and almost all the drops were a result of Drew simply not making the catch. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

You are not the only Drew Bennett fan on this forum. I surprisingly also happen to appreciate Drew, and am grateful for the many years of excitement he has provided to tens of thousands of Titans fans.. Nontheless, if I see him under producing, I will call it out.

You on the other hand will deny it and throw the blame on somebody else.. Who better to carry the blame than our Rookie QB?

When rating someone you can't have a lot of disclaimers about youth, experience, etc. You can only comment on what they are doing on the field. If Vince has a good game against the Bills the hype may be close to accurate. He is plays like he did against the Jags, then over rated does come to mind.

Actually, over/under rating has more to do with the perception of the fans to a player in contrast to what the player is indeed doing (or currently capable of doing). When a player plays at a 7 level, and fans expect him to play at a 9 or 10 level, that is considered over-rating.
