Beasts of the Southern Wild is overrated, seemed like a good youtube movie, nothing more. However that little girl can act her a** off and it should win best soundtrack.
Gtfo Best movie of the year. First movie to make me get teary eyed in a long time lol. The amazing thing is how little acting experience anyone in that film had. The film makers themselves had little to no experience. To knock it out of the park on their first try is amazing. The little girl is going to blow up this year. I hope she wins the Oscar.
Don't expect much from kid actors like that. Usually how it works is- they're not so much on script. This film looks like way especially. Maybe she is... And a lot of times, the directors will almost trick them to where they're not acting- they truly believe what is happening and are improving most of it. Thus the reason they make one film and then never repeat the success. Could be different here, but again- wouldn't expect much.
