    Funny that The Pixies will win this - considering The Toadies who will get creamed by Toad The Muzak Machine are an improved version of The Pixies..

    And for those that don't know The Old 97's - your loss. They were brilliant..

    LOL - they only time I hear comparable Nirvana/Pixies is when Kim is highlighted. Suffice it to say The Pixies sounded lots happier than Nirvana ever did..

    Cobain said himself that he was just trying to sound like The Pixies. I think he did pretty good at it.

    The problem was that as a singer Kurt was no Black Francis and The Pixies were musical chameleons - sounding like Lou Reed one minute and The Replacements the next.
    Nirvana had two gears at best.
