The Titans open as a dog and win big over a division rival and team many ranked in the top 5.

The defense was probably the most dominating I've seen EVER at LP Field. Yes, better than 2000.

The Titans first-round pick looks like the real deal and the Titans finally have a playmaker. Their second-round pick also looked strong.

The Titans sit atop the AFC South this morning.

The defense and running game will be what takes the Titans deep into the playoffs. This is as good a start as any Titans fan could expect.

Amen... all the weaknesses aside - they beat a very good team yesterday. The Jags are one of the few teams left out there that will simply beat you up in the trenches on both sides. Not only did the Titans hold their own, they laid the wood to the Jags. 7 sacks and 2 picks on a mobile QB that only threw 3 picks all season last year. 7 sacks - surely they must have attacked the QB and left running lanes open for one of the best RB tandems in the league? Nope. Beautiful, and very disciplined. The D will get us to the post season if they don't lose focus.

If the playoffs started today, the Titans would win the AFC south. Sweet!
You know, it's funny, I'm starting to ponder the Ravens' formula for Superbowl success... punishing defense, a strong running game, and a QB who can manage games... we have all those, and no I'm not referring to Vince as the game manager. :suspect:

It was a great game on the D side no doubt. I really want to see some improvement on our coverage on special teams though.

Seriously! You'd think we lost the game 35-0 the way everyone is acting. We are 1-0, sit atop the AFC South, and potentially have the best defense in the league.

I've been a VY supporter since the beginning and still think he can develop into a good NFL QB, but all I think this team needs is a QB who won't lose the game. Just someone who will not turn the ball over really...I'm really having a flashback to that Ravens superbowl team, but I believe our offense is better than that with the LW/CJ combo.

It's great to see this start. We're in a really good position to start strong. Week 3 we play the Texans, and the Jags play at the Colts. If we start 3-0, we'll have a very strong start on the division. The colts may even come to MNF as underdogs against us.

I agree Jeff. That's a great start especially with the other division teams losing. However, I also agree with one of the other posters about our special teams. The gunners were awful yesterday losing containment on just about every return. Paul Williams is not the man for that job.
