The Titans may not have put together their biggest running game of the season last week against Pittsburgh, but the team’s 22 carries for 94 yards performance stood out for at least a couple of reasons.

First of all, the Titans didn’t lose yardage on any running plays. Second, the Titans gained an average of six yards when they ran the ball on first downs.

“That’s been plaguing us all year for whatever reason, where you hand the ball off and it’s second-and-13,” Titans coach Mike Munchak said. “That’s the stuff that really hurt us in the games we lost.

“That’s what you need out of your running game. You need a second-and-7. Even if it’s not a great run, it should be second-and-8, second-and-7, and I think that was a nice change from what we’ve had the rest of the season.”
