Actually it was the first 17 weeks and without Vinitari winning that game for the colts at baltimore ( hey Titanic-Sub, thats how impactful a kicker is), Peyton doesn't advance to New England.

So really give credit to HIS kicker....ironically the same guy.

We had Rob Bironas....Kevin Mawae.....Stephen Tulloch.....Where's out superbowl :sad2: I'm not saying a good kicker isn't important, but they're not going to bring you a superbowl

Once again, Vinatieri beat the ravens for the colts with five boots, made an awesome 45 yarder kick in a blizzard angainist the raiders to force overtime and kicked another to win it, and booted two superbowl winners.

Vinatieri brought superbowls. Rob Bironas is great, but he isn't Vinatieri.

Rob Bironas career FG %: 85.6
Adam Vinatieri career FG %: 82.7

Rob Bironas career FG % >50 yards: 68
Adam Vinatieri career FG % >50 yards: <50%

Literally the only stat Adam has on Rob is that he has more overall successful FG's, but he's played 15 years (227 games) as opposed to 6 (96 games) so obviously he is going to have more. If you look at is on a per-game basis Adam kicks 1.6 FG's successfully a game, Rob kicks a very slightly higher 1.67 successful field goals a game. Obviously comparing number of made field goals is pretty useless because it is so dependent on the team around the kicker, but it seems to be the one stat Adam had an edge on but he actually doesn't....

Also don't try to blame Adam's lower percentage on him being in the league longer, as his average has been very consistent throughout, showing no signs of a constant increase or decrease.

You're right though, Rob Bironas is great, and he isn't Vinatieri, he's better.

Yeah saying 131 game sample isn't noteworthy is just twisting the stats.

Now, if Bironas hit that field goal in 2008 playoffs we force overtime and maybe win the game.

Don't try to say it was only one game, cause obviously the sample size doesn't matter.

By the way, is Rob going to the hall of fame?

We're not comparing runningbacks, Bironas' numbers aren't going to suddenly nose dive, unless he breaks a leg. Don't sit there and act like a 96 game sample isn't a fair size.

Yeah...Missing a 51 yard field goal...something that Vinatieri does over 50% of the time.

If Rob was given the opportunities that Adam was, then year he would be, because he's a better kicker...

He's the best kicker in the league and the last person you should blame for that playoff loss.

    Gotta love these meaningless arguments.
Kicker isn't a weakness and is a strength. Now it is just up to the rest of the team to put Bironas in position to win a SB with a kick.

what a joke of a post

manning will actually come out of a game when the colts are up by a large margin.

brady will not and keeps running up the score
