NFL may add 17th regular season game..

Good idea, fans have been asking for more regular season games for years, now fans abroad have been asking for games, and in having an extra game on neutral soil, teams won't be cheated out of a home game...

 

football is an american sport, i like 16 games, 17 would be great if they are going to take away 2 preseason games. but not in foreign countries...

 

Just because it's an 'american' sport doesn't mean it should be restricted to only americans. Should they take away all the sports that aren't "american" too?
Although, it seems like americans are the only ones that like NFL football. The NFL keeps talking about having games in London, where they hate american football lol.

 

That's like saying England will take away soccer from the rest of the world...

I don't like reqular season games being played outside the US.
They got a good thing going, and now they're looking for ways to screw it up.

 

Nobody loses a home game & everyone loses a meaningless preseason game.

Sounds great to me.

 

It is an interesting thought. I just don't know. I think the nfl benefits by getting a slow base of fans around the world. But it can't do what the nba did with Yao Ming. It will never match that. Because even if they get a base of players, the faces are covered in helmets, so there is no identity to the player. I don't think it's a bad idea. I'm just not sure if it's a good one yet. The drawbacks are limited. In fact, I'm having a hard time even seeing a single drawback.
