Peyton Manning report blows lid off NFL's HGH problem - NY Daily News

"Steroids aren't the problem. HGH is the big problem. For the past four or five years, the league has been almost overrun by HGH," a veteran player told the website. "The new testing procedures aren't catching anyone, because players know there is almost no way to get caught."

The league and the players' union agreed to isoform testing in 2011 and began the testing in October 2014. However, the NFL senior vice president for labor policy Adolpho Birch told Bleacher Report that the league hasn't yet caught a player for using HGH. That's because the isoform test can only catch a player within a "few hours" of HGH use, anti-doping scientist Don Catlin told USA Today.

"If it's a day or more," Catlin said, "it's not going to find you."

The veteran player, meanwhile, told Bleacher Report that players only get caught "if the NFL gets really, really lucky, like win-the-Lotto-every-month lucky." A different player said his team was informed that there was little chance anybody would get caught under the current testing.

    And now WADA takes notice....

World body takes aim at NFL testing after doping report| Reuters

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Monday described allegations made in an Al-Jazeera report that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning took human growth hormone (HGH) as "very concerning" and has urged "increased collaboration" with sports leagues in the United States.

"While the NFL and the MLB are not signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code, in recent years WADA has been working with them and other professional leagues in the United States to try to bring them closer to WADA's program," Howman said.

"In particular with the NFL, we have been offering guidance to enhance, and increase the transparency of, their testing program."

NFL is setting itself up to be torn down....self inflicted wounds.

NFL doesn't care, if they did, they would test players regularly.

Doesn't really matter if the NFL does if WADA starts to care. Don't think you...or most fans realize that.

It really doesn't sound like WADA can do much of anything except shake their finger.

Wrong...WADA takes the lead....then you get USADA into it. I will let you do your own investigation but if you start to see or hear the following name you will know the NFL is F'ed....Travis Tygart. Remember the name. I could easily write the script of what is about to happen.

    Sigh

I wish the league and its players would just man up when these scandals break. Instead they deny it creating an even bigger issue.

Dear NFL, your loyal fans will not flee if you own the truth, might actually work in your favor..
