Yes to get a pick by trading a pick the following year you basically have to give a pick a round earlier. If we wanted a 2nd from someone we would have to offer a first next year.

That's the price you pay for getting the player you want and being able to have him and develop him this year.

What is with the troupe cracks? Do you think that until the end of time every 2nd rd TE we draft will suck just because troupe sucked? Cook is a different human being a different player and the guy who drafted troupe is not the guy who made this deal.

    ohh yeah an another thought.....

3 TE set w/ Bo, Alge, Cook. w/ johnson in the back field. maybe nate on the outside instead of Hall in the backfield...my lordy!! thats the most speed in any 3TE set. i no mike loves two TE formation....whats his take on three?

OHH YEAH AND TITAN QBS NOW (whether it be collins or young..heck even if it was me or you) HAVE 0 EXCUSE...EXCELLENT o line (possibly best), excellent run game, great middle targets. wont say great but finally we can say good outside options too.

excited?? i love the NFL haahha

3 TE formations are used in one situation: goal line.

I'm thinking when Reinfeldt gets to the office tomorrow morning, Scaife will be standing there to sign his tender.

Well after next year Crump will be gone and maybe Scaife. So this was a quite need that we haven't really talked about.

Crumpler most likely will be gone this year. We are not going to keep 4 TEs unless we keep one less WR based on the thinking that cook is a big WR.

What does crumpler give us other than being a good blocker? Stevens can do that.

I'm talking about a 2 WR 2 TE balanced set but instead of having cook on the line put him in the slot standing up so he can get into his route quicker and not get jammed at the line by a linebacker.

It would be difficult to defend the pass with a base defense but if a team matched that set with a nickel than we can use our size advantage to pound them with the run.

I'm curious to know what the Titans' plans are in trading Scaife and how much they can get. They have the option of doing the same thing the Pats did with Cassell if Scaife has a good year, or they can trade him midseason if Cook proves himself early.

I'd also like to see the FO sign Cook to a 5-year contract to make up for the larger number of expiring contracts in 2013.

I'm also encouraged that Fisher is 'evolving' in his view that not everyone has to block, but that an ability to get open is sometimes more important.
