I dont agree that we need someone with the same or similar style of VY..
I think a different style of player with similar mechanics is much better.. take example Mcnair & Volek, and when Mcnair went down I think it gave us a slight advantage to have a backup that #1 they didn't gameplan for and number 2 changes the dynamic of the game.. Ok Mcnair & Volek isn't a great example but the point is that finding a good pocket passer who can be mobile if need be and understands the mechanics of the game and the style of offense is much better suited I believe then trying to find someone who can try and do the things Vince does..

  3. It makes no sense to try and get someone with the same style of play as Vince. No one they get would be able to be successful trying to do what Vince does. VY is unique.

actually now that I think about, lets just keep Collins and draft either Palmer, Brennan, Stanton, Leak, or Booty to be groomed up as our next backup QB...

Exactly. Find someone who's a capable body, one who understands the system, and can execute with some sort of precision. If Young goes down, we're in trouble as is. Just find someone who can manage the game.

The question is, would Collins want a new contract for a backup roll? That's the whole reason he turned down Indianapolis' offer and took TN's.

    Neil O'Donnell

As interesting as this debate is.....

It makes me really appreciate what a great guy we had in O'Donnell. He was a class act & he could be trusted to get the job done. We never had to worry that OMG Neil's going in for McNair.

That's the kind of guy we need & I'll never have that kind of confidence about Collins.

  8. It's a safe bet that no one is going to offer him a starting job anymore. He's a backup no matter where he goes. That doesn't mean necessarily that the Titans would be his top choice, but they should be right there assuming he likes the city.
