Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky
Fred Taylor talked about Jacksonville and Maurice Jones-Drew on Friday as he met New England media on a conference call set up by his new team, the Patriots. Thanks to ESPN.com AFC East kingpin Tim Graham for passing this along.

Taylor on Jacksonville:

"Jacksonville was home the past 11 years. There's no hiding it. I met a lot of people, made a lot of friends, the kids in the community, everything. I'm going to miss it. But I do understand the business aspect of it all. ... Just another chapter that's closed. Now it's time to start a new one and go forward. I told Mr. [Wayne] Weaver when this is all said and done in a couple of years or whatever I would personally call him and tell him I'm ready to retire a Jaguar. As for now, I've got football to play for the Patriots."

On Jones-Drew without Taylor:

"I think Maurice is going to do fine. Actually, he has been the bulk of their offense the last couple years. He knows what to do with the football. He'll lead that team. He's a little fiery competitor. You see it on tape every time he hits somebody with a crushing blitz pickup or he's trying to run somebody over to break a tackle, he does it all. I call him my young L.T., as in LaDainian Tomlinson. He can do it just like L.T. can. He's ready to show it."
