According to NCAA rules, they did win the game. But apparently they decided not to go by the rules.

 

there must be an issue with the clocks and time keeping at LP field... First the 08 playoff game and now this?

 

At the very least, the 5 yard penalty for 30 men on the field for the spike should have been a 15 yarder...which would've made a huge difference.

Then you add the fact that the main official declared the game over. Which, by rule, ends the game regardless.

UT got hosed but then again they never should have missed the extra point or never should have let them drive the field with 40 seconds left and no timeouts.

 

Whoa. Easy with the 'hey we'd love to have some frosh that threw 3 picks in a semi-big game playing for us in the NFL' talk.

I think Bray will be very solid and maybe play in the NFL... but that's still a long shot. A lot has to happen and not happen in order for that to occur.

 

2 ints were absolutely on him, the 3rd wasn't. But point made. But the td pass to Rogers was a big, big time throw.

 

For you crybabies complaining about the play that extended the game-

Did you cry about the OBVIOUS late hit the refs ignored on that drive that would have set UNC up for the field goal before time expired? No? Odd.

Did you cry when they took away a first down catch from a UNC wr simply because a UT coach cried and said he was OOB? No? Hmm...

When a Kansas State team was penalized for much less earlier that day on what could have been a game-tying play?

Did you cry when YOUR team 2 years ago should have lost the game on a missed kick- yet got another chance due to their own offensive penalty? UT won that game due to the same thing UNC won- oops- I meant TIED the game on.


Funny how you don't mind when the refs screw someone else over... but when you benefit from the exact same thing OHHHH NOOO!! THE REFS!! THE REFS!!!

For one, I don't see anyone crying.

On the missed personal foul call, you need to actually watch the game. If you did, you would see that the UT player is blocked from behind and pushed into the player. Plain as day.

The unsportsman like pentalty should have been called against Bray and 15 yards added to the kickoff or extra point. I agree 100%. He shouldn't have done that.

The UNC WR not getting the first down...fine. Give it to him.

The KSU play was a joke. Never should have given him a 15 yard penalty. But apparently it was the rule and that Big 10 official went with it. But in the UT game, they ignored the 15 yard penalty and only gave a 5 yard penalty. Not to mention that in less than 10 sec., UNC was able to line up, have their kicking team come on the field and then have some leave and then come back, line up for a kick with the QB under center and then spike the ball. Nevermind that the umpire is supposed to stand over the ball and give the def. a chance to sub as well.

The game is over but the biggest deal is how bad teh Big 10 officials looked yesterday. What a joke.

 

I agree...multiple standards in multiple games by officiating crews from the same conference. That really was pathetic, and needs to be corrected in the offseason.
