The family of receiver O.J. Murdock will attend Thursday’s Titans-Cardinals game at LP Field, when they’ll be recognized with a moment of silence before the contest.

A wide receiver signed by the Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2011, Murdock died last month in Tampa, Fla., of what police there said was an apparent suicide.

Murdock spent last season on injured reserve after suffering an Achilles injury early in training camp, and he was scheduled to participate in training camp this year. But Murdock never reported to the team.

Members of the Murdock family attended the team’s walk-through at LP Field on Wednesday night.

The Titans have been wearing football-shaped stickers with the letters “O.J.” on the back of their helmets during the preseason to pay tribute to Murdock.

“It is good to know they haven’t forgotten him,” said wide receiver Damian Williams, who was one of Murdock’s closest friends on the team. “We definitely haven’t and it is nice to know the organization has put something together for him.”

Murdock’s mother, Jamesena Murdock, said the family has decided to donate O.J.’s brain tissue to researchers studying the effects of repetitive traumatic head injuries.

So if we're gonna beat the Chargers in San Diego when they honor Junior Seau, does that mean we're going to lose tonight?
