If the field was 250 yards he may have caught him, but luckily no field is that long, and there's no way he would have gained 5-7 more yards on him in "10 to 15 yards" like you say. CJ started slowing down at the 20.

I broke down the film on CJ's run and using math from his last few steps, he probably runs about a 16.2 in the forty. That is about 11 seconds slower than Amano.
