Don't think so, I think our DB coaches have been Jerry Gray, Chuck Cecil, Marcus Robertson.

George Plaster wrongly said on the radio yesterday that Gray took the DC job at Texas. If that was true he would not want this job but it is not the DC job he is the secondary coach there.

Did a good job with the Bills, has plenty of NFL experience overall. Would be a nice hire. I agree it is surprising that somebody hasn't already hired him for a Dc position. There are quite a few bad coordinators out there and he has positive experince. Same with Guinta and Trogvac.

There is someone between Gray and Cecil since Cecil's first job was quality control in 2001.

That is true though... to an extent. He's Texas' DB coach.

Sounds like a guy who appeared in a lot of westerns in the 1930s. A Gabby Hayes, Walter Brennan wannabee.

I'm starting to get confused...and I'll admit I pay little attention to coaches on other teams who rank below head coach...but have we heard any rumblings of names that do not have a direct link to Oilers/Titans...does everyone Munchak like have a tie to the team?

I did a little research, posted this in the other thread also:

    As a player:

    Los Angeles Rams (1985-1991)
    Houston Oilers (1991)
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1993)

4x Pro Bowl (86-89), 89 Pro Bowl MVP

    As a coach:

    DC from 2001 - 2005 on Bills

    Overall Defense:
    2001: 29th
    2002: 16th
    2003: 2nd
    2004: 2nd
    2005: 24th

    Players he coached:
London Fletcher, Terrence McGee, Takeo Spikes, Nate Clements, Aaron Schobel, Lawyer Millow, Pat Williams, Chris Kelsay, and Angelo Crowelo.

DB Coach from 2006 - 2009 on Redskins

    Players he coached (secondary):
Sean Taylor ('06 was his breakout year), Carlos Rogers, Shawn Springs, Laron Landry, and DeAngelo Hall.

    Pass Defense:
    2006: 22nd
    2007: 15th
    2008: 7th
    2009: 8th

Spent 2010 as the Seahawks defensive backs coach.

On January 17, 2011, Gray returned to his alma mater to join the Texas Longhorns staff as assistant head coach and defensive backs coach.

Makes sense to me. Played on the Oilers. He's a Texas guy. Born in Texas. Good player. Good coach. Munch wants him (rumored), lets go get him!

other than the number of times being a Pro-bowler this could be Chuck Cecil you are talking about. We all know how that turned out
