Logic would say the Titans have a slight edge over the Bills on Sunday because of a few extra days of rest after playing last Thursday. But the NFL results so far this season aren’t backing that up.

Teams that have played on either Wednesday or Thursday night have a record of 3-7 in their games the next weekend. It’s even worse for teams that win on Wednesday or Thursday night, as they’ve gone 1-4 in games the following weekend.

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has been trying to sound that alarm this week, pointing out that – in a somewhat similar situation – the Titans were smashed by the Texans coming off a bye last season.

“I think that’s probably a trap for us, to think that because we got two days off and (the Bills) had to play on Sunday that we get some advantage over them or something,” Hasselbeck said. “It’s probably the opposite. We can’t be sleepy coming out of it. We were pretty bad coming out of the bye week last year.

“I think this year, teams coming out of this Thursday night game have a losing record. So for us, we need to raise our focus and attention and energy level as we go into this week because of that, and not think we have some special advantage because we have two extra days of rest. That won’t matter on Sunday.”

Lucky for us the Bills are no bulls. We got these guys right where we want them.

    I don't think so bro...

Think about the recent successes of Wild Card teams. I mean that extra week off has even proven to adversely effect No. 1 and No. 2 seed teams in the playoffs, who (at least statistically) are 'the best' that year.

This is just an extra three day rest - not an extra week. It's a coincidence IMO.
