Most Important Stat for Success

Time of possession and turnovers are blanket things. If our QB and defense play well, both of those stats will be good.

I'd be willing to speculate that teams who win TOP and turnover battles almost always win games.

I went with TO ratio, seems to me that winning teams usually do very well with that historically. I remember (long ago) when we were a good D team we were usually toward the top of that category.

 

1. Locker's rating. Our future depends on it and we have gone over the top to get him help.

2. TOP, could not get off the field last year.

3. Turnover ratio.

 

Interesting TO ratio stats..

We were -4 last year.

So in our 5 most successful seasons we averaged +10 in TO margin. We are -13 in TO margin since 08.

Turnovers I reckon, there are anamolys but generally more turnovers = more wins.

This was my logic. If you win the turnover ratio, you'll probably have a better TOP. Even if Locker sucks, hopefully CJ and the run games steps it up & vice versa.

 

i went with 3rd down coversation ratio.... gotta convert third downs to gain TOP as well as get in the red zone. if you can't complete 3rd downs, you are as good as lost. While I was tempted to go with turnovers, I just don't think its more important than 3rd down conversions and efficiency. If u want to win games, convert 3rd downs.
