No, the sulking came during that play.

When he sat all by himself on the bench (not with his team) and stared straight ahead like he was offended to be taken out. A certain college QB did the same thing (Forcier) earlier this year and was crucified for it.

But I get it- you guys are still unfamiliar with Randy Moss. I'll give you time to catch on...

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Moss was out there as a decoy and only a decoy, with no intention of throwing to him.

His statements lead me to believe that as well. It'd explain why he got the ball thrown to him...3 times was it? The guy's been here a week. He probably doesn't know jack about our playbook yet, and probably didn't know half of the plays that were called. Just go out there and look like we may throw it to you, Randy!

Of course, that could hinder the passing game as well. Sure, having Moss pull that coverage is great. It's how Welker became a Pro Bowler. But Welker went underneath that coverage from the slot, would catch it, then turn up field for as many yards as he could. Just real fluid like that, and was a 1st Down machine. We decided to run Scaife's awkward butt out there to give it a try. But Scaife isn't Welker. By using Moss primarily as a decoy like that, you're basically trading an eligible receiver for beneficial coverage for your other guys. But if your other guys aren't taking advantage of this, like what happened this past Sunday, then the offense will be out of whack. Add in the QB switching, both being hurt, and then being told not to throw to a guy. No wonder both of them looked uncomfortable and were so willing to check it down (checkdown may've been the 2nd read on some plays).

Just thinking out loud. If I know that was a science project that we witnessed yesterday, then I'll sleep better at night.
