Dump vick?

Sure he sucks. Many QBs rush for over 1000 yards in a season. Happens all the time.

A darn good case could be made that he is one of the ten best Qbs in the league. Stupidity in this incident and dog fighting aside.

Vick's career passing rating is over 2 points higher than kerry collins' and just 1.5 points lower than drew bledsoe's.

The case for vick..

Vick as a passer:

a) Vick's career passing rating is 76. That's average. To hear some people you would think he was akili smith or ryan leaf with legs. Vick's passing rating is higher or comparable to plummer, kitna, eli manning, carr, bledsoe, testeverde. even brett favre a sure hall of famer only has a rating of 84.

b) Vick has had probably the worst Wrs of any QB in the league the last 5 years. Top Wr in receiving yardage have been finneran 2X, peerless price 2X and the legendary roddy white who led the nfl in dropped passes.

Vick as a runner.

Best runner at his position in the history of the league.

Vick as a winner..

Since becoming the starting Qb vick has a career record of 37-28-1. A 56% winning percentage. He has been to the post season twice and won a game each time. Vick's winning % as a starter and in the post season are almost identical to steve mcnair's.

Note that we are talking about a guy who has not even turned 27 yet. He will be 27 later this month.

Steve mcnair had his three best seasons at age 28-29-30, 2001-2003. Mcnair's passing rating in those 3 seasons was 92. In his previous 3 seasons his rating was 81. So mcnair due to a combination of maturity, better Wrs and an offense designed more towards his talents was able to take his game to another level. Why couldn't vick do the same?

Vick does have a motivational catalyst; vince young.
