Michael Vick Comparisons?...What about BIG Ben?

I'm confused... when did Young take over games and when did I disappear. Either your mistaken, or I'm not sure what your talking about. Unless your talking about the Saints' game when Young threw mostly all his passes to a three yard curl route to the outside against a team stacking the line for the run... which I was at that Monday night game and it took me a couple of days to respond to the threads because of travel.

 

Are you kidding... Com'on give me my due props.

 

So you predicted that Vince would rely primarily on dink-and-dunk passes this year, even though that was easily the weakest part of his game last year?

Or that he would go from a very respectable 12 yards per completion as a rookie down to a very mediocre 9+ yards per completion?

Or that he would actively avoid making plays with his legs, and start relying heavily on checkdowns and dump-offs?

A lot of people predicted that VY would struggle this year.....the sophomore slump, so to speak.

But I don't recall anyone foreseeing that VY would effectively transform himself into a David Carr clone.

 

And Vick lost. Vince won. Which is pretty much the point right. Most elite college teams only have one or two losses. That is not news. It is news when you go undefeated. Stats mean nothing to me. I drafted a winner. He is what I thought he would be. A winner.

 

He also played well at Indy. A game he made all the plays to win. His rating was something like 97. So that is 2 games out of 5 he played superb. He was stellar. In 2 other games we ran for 200 yards. He wasn't asked to play well. So how could he. That leaves one game where he played poorly and we needed him. So now it's one game out of 5 where he played like crap, and we won it anyway. So what more do you want. He isn't allowed to have one game where he played poorly. Vince is getting it done when we ask him too.

 

You mean a winner like Chris Weinke, the guy who led FSU to the win over Vick? Or a winner like Danny Wuerffel? Or Gino Torretta? Or Charlie Ward? All those guys were winners. Would you have wanted them to QB your NFL team?

All this "winner" stuff is crap. Tons of players have been dominant in high school and college, only to find the competition in the NFL is much better than they are. Everyone let the VY hype from last year go to their heads... including Vince...
