    I will agree that conditions are geared toward efficiency and such.

    still doesn't diminish the fact that the US had a freakin' half pool length lead on the field, and it looked like a few of his buddies slowed up a little (Vandeerkay for example) . the rest of the team was maybe a second or so slower than Phelps ..... I'd bet if you had (4) Phelps out there, it'd been a 10 second breaking instead of just a 5

    I loved it when the gay French team said they would "smash the Americans", then lost to the good ole USA....bunch of surrender monkeys....

    I read a quote by one of the swimmers regarding criticism of the new Speedo suits [which Phelps only wears waist down..not full suit like all the guys he is leaving in his wake].

    He basically commented that the threw it in the water....it didn't go anywhere...so he figured he still had to swim after all....

    Sorry but if it didn't help they wouldn't be wearing it.

    I'm not doubting Phelps is a great swimmer, but the rate these records are being broken, it's a farce.
