so is he disappointed that no other team has contacted him. I am sure his agent has been in contact with other teams but yet no one has offered him a spot. Maybe it is time to hang it up and move on

Probably so. I don't like him blabbing to media that Fisher promised him a roster spot as a back-up though. That damages the team/coach reputation.

Mawae is done. Him and Nick Harper need to start a retirement home.

I think Jeff Fisher has done enough already to ruin his reputation.

I'm still on the boat that players like him would be getting signed if there wasn't a lockout threatening the season after this one (CBA issue obviously)

it's hard for alot of teams to sign older players to contracts if there's a chance they lose half to a whole year on those veterans, which with some of them could put them at retirement the next year or the year after

If Mawae came back, it would only be for one season. That's really a non-issue.

I'm not sure though he's a guy who just wanted a 1-year contract is he?

I'm also told that being the NFL PA president with this CBA problem and looming lockout has made him unfavorable to alot of people in front offices; i get business comes first, but it can still have that effect

I'd say when you're 39 you can't expect much more than a 1 year deal... that's pretty typical when dealing with guys over 35.
