Markelle Martin

Was curious about Markelle Martin who we drafted in the sixth round last season.Seems he was on PUP and never played a snap last season.

Taking a whole year away from the game after being drafted from college to the pros i'm wondering if he will be able to bounce back and make it,thoughts?

He was considered one of the best safety prospects in the draft last year.

Markelle is the biggest reason I'm not an advocate of drafting a safety in the first two rounds.

Dude was a badass before his injury. I want to see what we have with him.

I have to disagree. I wanted Eric Berry in the 1st round a couple of years ago.

He's nothing to hang hopes on.

No offense to Martin, he's just not starting material in the NFL. Never had much shot of being. Bad draft pick.

Dude, he was a 6th round pick... worth the shot.

Most 6th round picks get cut... besides the 1 in a millions like Brady.

He was a 2-3 round pick before his injury, the only reason he went so low

Looks like for good reason seeing as how he spent his entire first season on the PuP list. Maybe the injury knock on him right. Either way I really would like to see what he has, hopefully we'll see it when he battles Wilson and our 2nd round safety *crosses fingers* in camp this pre-season.

I like Martin (as a prospect) but we still need Safety help, at this point we can't count on him for anything except keeping the bench warm.

Even IF Markelle can be an eventual replacement for Griffin or Wilson, we still need somebody else who will replace the latter. Rob Johnson and Al Alfalva(Or whatever his name is) are horrible. I was hoping we would draft Markelle in the 3rd or 4th and we got him in the 6th so obviously I'm still holding onto some hope.

I think Markelle is more of a FS so hopefully he can get it together so we can get rid of Griffin and spend that money on an actual football player instead of a girly man.
