Johnson has been in the league like 3 years. perennial back up. Dudes never doing jack.

Martin.... Uhhh we can hope something goes really wild on our side and he's a hidden gem.... But I'm saving my doubts. Lol

... Robert Johnson isn't even half as bad as Lamont was.

He hasn't been great, but c'mon guys. That's wrong.

Martin sounds like he's perfectly suited to play strong. If he can, Griffin can at least go back to free where he's better suited to play.

I do remember seeing one play from last year where Martin absolutely blew a guy up. Brutal hit. I didn't notice any poor tackling, but then again it was just 1 game.

I think every highlight from his college career would get him fined in the NFL.

From the Sporting News, best safety in the 2012 draft.

Martin is an aggressive defender who does an excellent job of attacking the play and making hard, violent hits. He is a smart and instinctive defender who understands passing concepts well. While he is a big hitter, he has just adequate size for the position. Bigger backs can give him trouble. More than anything, Martin has elite athleticism, great coverage skills and is very good in run support, which is why he's the best safety in the country entering 2012. PROJECTED: Second round.

After watching those hits... does he do that often?

How great would it be to have a DB back there like a John Lynch that makes receivers crap themselves at the thought of going over the middle?

I like what I'm hearing about the guy. Hopefully he can fill a need for us so we can address other issues in the draft. We're a S away from having a solid defense.

I know its early for draft talk, but we don't have a lot of holes to fill. C, G, S, and a power back. If Martin can fill our need at S, then we could draft a depth DL in his place.

U kidding? After watching that play (or both tbh) I asked myself are those the best highlights you can find....

He also had plenty of time to make a clean and strong hit with his shoulder and not helmet, that play was actually really bad...
